The Homestead, originally the old barn, was restored in 1991. The building has been completely refurbished. Eight huge glass skylights bring natural light into the venue. Bay windows and sliding wooden doors bring the garden into the venue. Two lovely expansive verandahs with Colonial leather sofa’s open on to wooden decks which overlook the “Zevenfontein” spring and indigenous woodlands. The glass roof of the underground wine cellar displays an extensive range of fine wines. More than 150 glass candles create a soft and romantic ambience to compliment the elegant table settings.

This versatile venue in design allows for a wide range of seating options. These may include Oakfield’s unique 16 seater oval tables, which make the wedding feel like the banquet it is meant to be. The venue includes a large sprung wooden dance floor. A comfortable environment is critical in the wedding venue.

In winter, four huge fireplaces keep the venue cosy and are a wonderful compliment to the candles. These are removed in summer. The venue is fully misted on warm summer days. Not only does this create a wonderful atmosphere, but the evaporative cooling allows us to keep the venue wide open and the temperatures pleasant. The venue will accommodate up to 400 guests if the verandahs are used.
