The Dairy
As Oakfield is so extensive, The Dairy is a building that most clients do not even know exists. Originally built by Italian Prisoners of War it has always been a dream to restore this historic building. Oakfield Farm comprises three separate properties and as The Dairy is set apart from the other properties, we felt we could offer this unique venue as a third venue without in any way compromising Oakfield’s commitment to the privacy of each and every function.
Restoration began in 2006 and like all venues at Oakfield Farm, will end in the year dot! One of the hallmarks of Oakfield is that all of the buildings have a story to tell that is not yet finished.
The style of The Dairy is utterly unique. On their way to the dedicated parking area, your guests will feel the stress and tension of the city dissipate as they are captivated by the charm of The Dairy and the farm life of yesteryear that it embraces. The atmosphere is laid back and homely with the option of a beautiful garden wedding with stunning Highveld sunsets. Although perfectly laid out with all the necessities for a perfect function such as the bar and cocktail lounge and dance floor, The Dairy retains its authenticity with the original dung sluices covered with glass panels, the rails for the milk urns and step-up to the pasteurising machine. Unfortunately, the original food troughs had to make way to accommodate the varied floor plans that make every function distinct.
The Dairy is ideal in all seasons, with air-conditioning in summer and fireplaces in winter. Heavy organza drapes allow the size of the venue to be adjusted so that the intimacy of the smaller function is assured. Oakfield’s extensive options are available, however please note that the Chapel and Conservatory are reserved for the Summerhouse and Homestead respectively.
Should you require a smaller wedding, but want something utterly unique whilst in a real farm setting with the privacy and expertise offered by Oakfield Farm, then The Dairy ….

Dear Oakfield Clients
We are so excited about our new Chapel for the Dairy. We are also most concerned that you as a loyal client do not feel that the Dairy will in any way affect the exclusivity of the Homestead and the Summerhouse.
In this regard the Dairy has stringent conditions to ensure the above. These include
| • | The Décor of the Dairy will be done exclusively by a single specialist. This means that there will be not vehicles or other interruptions at Oakfield. We have sent out an invitation to all specialists that we feel might be interested. |
| • | The Dairy is confined to a particular fenced off area. The parking area is far away and cannot be seen from the other Venues. |
| • | The functions may only start an hour after the Homestead and Summerhouse. |
| • | The photographer used will be limited to a list so that we can be assured that the Dairy clients will not take photographs outside of the Dairy. As we have done for many years Brides may take photographs wherever they want before the weddings start? Our head waiters will know which areas are available at what time and this means that all 80 acres of Oakfield will be available at particular times to all clients. |
| • | Our wedding Co-Ordinators, apart from basic administration, will not be managing these weddings. This will be the responsibility of the specialists who accepts the exclusive position at the Dairy. |
