Mark, a personal trainer, and myself, a singer met in 2007 aboard the luxury cruise ship “Aurora”. It was at the gym that we first laid eyes on each other and it was love at first sight.

After a year and a half, Mark proposed to me on the 21st December, just a few days before Christmas! The plan was to wait until Christmas day itself, but I found out after that, that Mark just couldn’t wait any longer!

At the time, I was starring in a Christmas show in England and Mark came to surprise me one night after the show. What a complete surprise!! I couldn’t resist the sunshine in South Africa, compared with the UK, and with Mark being from South Africa, we began searching for the perfect wedding venue in Johannesburg. Oakfield was one of the first wedding venues we viewed and fell in love with it! It was a mix of the friendliness and warmth of the staff, the layout of the venue and the beautiful gardens that won us over and after having our first viewing, I couldn’t imagine our special day anywhere else. Our day itself was more that we could ever have imagined, from start to finish I never stopped smiling. Everything was taken care of and I could enjoy every moment stress free. The staff were fantastic and the food, unbelievable, in fact, the most comments we received were about the food. We partied the night away and had the time of our lives – truly a dream come true!
