An Office Romance
By Candice
One never thinks they would meet the love of their life at work, but for Travis and I it was our destined meeting place!
Upon my first interview this man caught my attention when leaving his office and I automatically assumed that he was married. A few weeks went by and my first day on the job arrived just my luck I managed to totally embarrass myself by passing out directly after I was introduced to Travis to this day he thinks he blew me away!!
October had arrived and Travis was tasked with organising our annual Marketing Christmas party. Until that date I had not breathed one word in his direction, but had however been told that he was not married. It was towards the end of the week when my office phone rang and to my surprise it was Travis. He asked very politely who would be attending the Christmas function from my department I gathered my info and being shy, just e-mailed it back to him. This was now the beginning of many conversations to come.
Travis took the first step by stating that he was under the impression that I did not like him as he had e-mailed me weeks prior asking why I was so quiet. I had not received the mail hence I did not reply, giving him this impression. Rather relieved now knowing that this was not the case we started chatting away about every topic you could possibly think of and before we knew it were officially on our first date which ended the evening with the first kiss.
It did not take long for the two of us to realise that we were in love. In fact, it took a whole 4 months, and we were living together! Travis and I knew from the start that we were going to tie the knot we had even identified September as the month. The two of us wanted to have things official and even wanted to start a family. In May 2010, we found out that we were expecting a baby which just sealed the deal and we decided that September would be our wedding.
We started the search for venues and fell in love with Oakfield Farm it was certainly meant to be, as they had the 25th September open!!! Very excited, the wedding plans began and decisions needed to be made as we only had 3 months to organise. The good news was that I knew exactly what I wanted and did not even have to contemplate! The theme was black and white with red roses.
The day arrived and all ran smoothly!! What fantastic service!! I can honestly say that this day was certainly one that I will always look back on and smile about. In fact, guests are still ranting and raving about how fantastic everything was. Travis and I are now happily married and awaiting the arrival of our baby boy.
A big thank you to all the staff at Oakfield for their superb service our wedding was certainly our dream made reality!
